Congregation B’nai Midbar’s

Financial donations are always welcomed and needed but they are not the only way for us to fulfill our moral obligation of Tzedakah.
Your skills, knowledge and abilities are also a precious gift to CBM. We need your physical involvement to grow strong, to support our Jewish community and to sustain us for the future. “Hineni – Here I Am” in mind, body and soul is a commitment not only to G-D but also to your congregation. Who can sponsor an Oneg?
YOU! We invite anyone who wants to acknowledge something special in their lives – a new child in the family, a birthday, an anniversary, any wonderful event in your life or just because you can be an Oneg sponsor. It also really nice to share this Mitzvah with another person – it doubles the enjoyment and halves the work!
Why sponsor an Oneg?
It is a great way to contribute back to the community and to support the work of our amazing Oneg committee. You will have the privilege of lighting the Shabbat candles in recognition of your celebration.
What does sponsor an Oneg entail?
Great question. We ask that you bring refreshments for approximately 50 to 60 people for services Friday evening no later than 6:15 PM. Congregation B’nai Midbar will supply all the paper goods (plates, utensils, cups, Shabbat candles, tablecloths etc.). The congregation will also supply homemade challah made fresh that morning, wine and juice for the! Please note: to defer some on the Congregation’s costs we ask for a donation of $100 (which can be shared with your co-sponsors).

If you have any questions before filing out this form, feel free to contact the Oneg coordinator at judi95476@gmail.com
